The Gallery Havelock
Non profit art gallery showcasing Marlborough artists.
The Gallery Havelock — a unique charitable trust located in beautiful Marlborough — first opened its doors in October 2014. Created to showcase Marlborough artists and prevent another empty building in Havelock, the community rallied together to establish what has become a renowned art gallery.
A dedicated team of volunteers and Trustees keeps the Gallery open and running seven days a week, year-round. To date, more than 156,000 visitors have stepped through the doors of The Gallery Havelock.
As a non-profit organisation, the Gallery charges artists only a modest commission on works sold, with profits returned directly to the community. To date, over $89,000 has been donated to community organisations across the greater Pelorus area — including volunteer fire brigades, MenzShed, St John Ambulance, Meals for the Needy, the Rescue Helicopter Trust, EMT training, the Birdsong Project, Havelock Theatre, and local school field trips and art classes.
Currently, twenty-five local artists from the Marlborough region are represented. The Gallery showcases a wide variety of art forms, including oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media, photography, sculpture, jade carving, felt, woodwork, jewellery, and ceramics.
